If you are looking at this site, you are probably thinking about seeing a therapist, maybe for the first time or you may be seeking a change of approach.
My approach is an integrative one, a blend of Person Centered, Gestalt and T.A. (Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy). I also like to use Creative Therapies when clients feel unable to talk about painful experiences or feelings. Every client is very different and so I offer the opportunity to experiment with stones, objects, paint, sand-tray , play-doh, music, and other materials. You do not have to be an artist or even creative . They can be powerful in revealing hidden aspects of yourself.
I also integrate C.B.T. techniques for problems such as depression, anger and some phobias. This may require you to keep a diary of events , recording feelings and behaviour , which we explore together each week. This may reveal patterns or triggers that you would like to change because they are harmful not only to you but to those around you.
I believe that given a safe environment and a therapist who really cares about you - the wholeness of you - then the challenges of therapy can be life changing.
Many clients have told me that my ‘style’ of counselling can be challenging but very rewarding. I do place great emphasis on commitment. If you are seeking to change something in your life that is making you miserable then why not come and talk how, by working together we can move towards making a real difference.
I can help you along your journey, working with you to find a better way of living that leaves you stronger and more able to cope with whatever comes your way.
